Biography
Mindy Sue Meek passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2010, at the Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany, MO, as a result of complications of Fahr’s Disease. She was born in Bethany on March 31, 1974, the daughter of John and Virginia (Malcolm) Meek.
Mindy attended Ridgeway high school, graduating in 1992, and was member of the National Honor Society throughout her high school years. In 1996, she graduated from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business. Mindy accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at a young age, and was baptized at Kirkley Chapel near Bethany.
At the time of her death, she was employed as a worker at the Harrison County Sheltered Workshop. Mindy looked forward to going to work on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays each week, rising at 5:30 a.m., and often waiting by the door for the OATS bus. She was an avid reader, reading several books each month. When her health was better, she enjoyed playing with the cats on the family farm, and sitting in a favorite swing. Mindy enjoyed frequent visits with her brother’s young family and looked forward to being with her many extended family members on special occasions.
Mindy was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Meek, whom she missed greatly; her maternal aunt, Anita Osmon; grandparents, Al Malcolm Jr and William and Deloris Meek. She is survived by her father, John Meek and step-mother, Laura Squires, of the home; her brother Ryan Meek and wife, Kay; niece Marissa and nephew Brayden; maternal grandparents, Marvin and Yvonne Kinder, Bethany, MO; step-sister, Aleah Squires and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 7, at the Roberson Funeral Home. Burial in Lilly Cemetery, Ridgeway, Missouri.The family will receive friends anytime after 7:00 P.M. Saturday, February 6 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO where friends may call after 2:00 on Saturday.
